AMA eGrandPrix at Vintage Motorcycle Days

If you needed any more reasons to attend the AMA Vintage Motorcycle Days at Mid Ohio, here's a good one, you'll get a chance to see the electric race bikes running at speed on exhibition laps of the track. This is their first appearance in the US.

The AMA eGrandPrix Introduction will showcase a number of teams, racers and machines taking part in the inaugural TTXGP eGrandPrix race on the Isle of Man in June. The bikes are sleek, all-electric machines with performance on par with many of today's internal-combustion racebikes.

Most of us aren't going over for the TTXGP but if you're interested in these bikes you should seriously consider going to Vintage Days. Vintage Days are always a good time with loads of bikes on display, vintage racing, swap meet and more. Now we'll get to see the contrast with these electric motorcycles that may well represent at least one part of motorcycling's future. I'll be there for sure. How about you?

I absolutely love Vintage Days anyway. It is so much more laid back than the Honda Superbike Race weekend. Everyone is just there to have fun and watch old bikes go really fast.

This just gives me one more reason to be sure I make it up there.

So, ... what do YOU think?
