BSA will be the AMA's featured vintage marque at this year's Vintage Motorcycle Days, July 24-26 at the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course in Lexington, Ohio. It will be a great opportunity to see an extensive display of these famous British bikes. BSA, for a while, was the largest motorcycle manufacturer in the world so they should have a lot to choose from. Of course, with all of the other bikes on display, the vintage racing, the enormous swap meet, demo rides, ... it's just a great weekend, period.
Vintage Motorcycle Days is a must attend event for me every year. If you haven't made the trip, you really owe it to yourself to see what the fuss is about. The central Ohio location makes it convenient for enthusiasts from a large part of the US and Canada, but you'll meet visitors from everywhere, so if you haven't made your summer plans yet, this is a weekend event worth attending.

Awesome event. I went for the last four years, riding solo from Virginia and camping on site. The swap meet is endless.

It’s been many years since I was at Oshkosh (1980), another must visit event for any real motorhead. Have you noticed all the common non-motorcycle interests that keep showing up on The Kneeslider? Vintage aircraft can be stunning, big radial engine biplanes, bent wing Corsairs, or any of the ingenious home built creations, I could go on for hours. Listening to the sound of an Allison or Merlin on takeoff, it’s all good. Don’t get me started … anything well built and motor driven works for me.

Ahh those were the days . Sex was safe and motorcycles were dangerous and pretty girls didn’t ruin their beauty with tattoos.
Sometimes I wish I still had my old Gold Star. Then I think of how I’d damn near bust my leg kicking it on top of some God forsaken mountain trail because it decided to foul the plug …..
Today, I just push a button. Oh where did the “romance” go, eh?
And yes, I do remember when the girls looked that good …. and when I could do something about them.
