Twin pulsejet bicycle by Robert Maddox

The first time we wrote about Robert Maddox was when he had a pulsejet bicycle for sale on eBay. It was a pretty interesting bit of work, a bit unusual, perhaps, but, everyone needs a hobby. It looks like Mr Maddox is very committed to this particular pastime because he keeps building bigger and better models and the latest is a dual jet version, still bicycle mounted but with a little extra style, and thrust, too.

For this build, he stacked two 60 pound thrust engines and even incorporated push button start, heck, it's almost civilized. He's still selling his pulsejets on eBay, too, so if you have the need for speed in an eccentric sort of way, he's your man.

i don’t think i’d ever need to own one. but i’d pay to borrow one for a trip down a runway. i could see this as a lucrative little deal for him, like sky diving. maybe set up a tandem bike so you could go with someone for safety.

lol, pulse jet bikes and safety. i’m thinking “song of the sausage creature” right now.

Super Cool. Mr. Maddox can sell kits to make his jet bikes in Superman comic books. I would have murdered to get my greasy little hands on one of these when I was 12.. It’s good that it burns anything, as fuel can be hard to get when you are a kid. “Be the envy of everyone on your block”. I love it. RideSafe, Mark.

I love the crazy, devil may care attitude of these projects. Everyone needs a little oddball in their lives. Great job!

Al Gore needs to put a stop to this.

It’s a shame the helmet in the picture isn’t a bit more “steampunkish”. The bike just screams Rocketeer, or maybe Jules Verne meets board track racer…

I love these pulsejets-so simple…Theres a guy gonna do a flying kilometer at our landracing event in Halmstad Sweden July 11 with a pulsejet gocart, It would be great if some pulsejet bikes were racing too !
Does anyone know if there are any old V1 rockets still in circulation? (My Transit van roof needs one.)
