BMW Harrier by Stellan Egeland
Stellan Egeland of SE Service, who we've seen before with some interesting builds like the Esox Lucius and Hulster, has unveiled the Harrier, created from a BMW R1200S.
The build might be termed hi-tech radical, especially in relation to his previous work. The photos here, from Fastbikes, don't show the front suspension clearly enough to see exactly what's going on, though it certainly looks interesting.
I'm sure we'll be seeing more of this soon.

Now, that is hot! Now all they need is some VTOL video! Haha.
it looks very interesting. but it somehow looks like it’s not finished. it needs a little something more to really set it off. but i love the direction he’s gone.
The front end seems to be, a hub-centre as per vyrus or tesi. though the ohlins rear shock on the front looks out of place but i cant really think of any other ways of mounting it without raising the ride height. I’d like to get a better look at the rod actuation.
Overall tell me where and how much.

Bravo — I like it! Hopefully we see more of this kind of non-mainstream design / building taking place in the future. Fortunately there are a few builders (ala the above) out there wandering off into this unknown world of letting the design itself make the statement. I’m so sick of the 360 rear tires and boring “same frame/wheel/tank” that can only be differentiated by the paintjob itself.

Apparently Acke Rising of ISR brakes have assisted in the design of the front end.
It is not mentioned on their web site but you may still find their site of interest. Particularly the “about” section. Frame building, engine prototype and world championship winning brakes!

This guy masterfully fuses art and technology – in just the right amounts of each. Are those push-pull cables linked to the handle bars? That is an elegant solution to connecting from here to there (with redundancy). I wonder how they affect steering feel/feed-back?
You who do not appreciate this bike, or the looks of it, does not understand the core of motorcycling, motorcycle technology or design of motorcycles.
Get a Harley engine and follow the given path of what is already in fashion of bike builders and you are “home safe”. Stellan does not follow any design standards, he is breaking new grounds where no one thought possible.

I build my bikes to please me, i can not take into consideration what other people will think but of cause it makes me happy when my work is appreciated by others.
This bike was not built to be a pretty showbike, its purpose is to be ridden hard.
Some things one just has to understand to see the beauty of.
If you’re talking “beauty” here and dislike the Harrier… It says only you do not understand.
It is like candy. Any spoiled kid can and will like it. Vintage wine, now that takes on a matter of fine taste to appreciate.
Nothing is as beautiful as an object created without compromise. Nothing. Just regard this; have you ever seen an ugly bike win the GP?
