Morbidelli Museum Photo Tour
June 20th, 2008 by Paul Crowe - "The Kneeslider"
Denny, one of The Kneeslider’s regular readers from Portland, Oregon, sent us a note saying he just returned from a trip to Italy where he and three of his friends, had the opportunity to tour the Morbidelli Museum. Denny says Giancarlo Morbidelli was a most unassuming, gracious and wonderful host. Not only that, they had the whole museum to themselves!
A lot of you may be familiar with the very cool little Morbidelli V8 motorcycle from back in 1997 and we recently mentioned a Morbidelli V12 mockup he was working on which, hopefully, will see the light of day sometime in the future. Well, as the museum readily shows, Giancarlo Morbidelli’s involvement with motorcycles is a bit more extensive than just a little V8.
Denny sent in a whole group of photos and while we don’t usually post our readers’ vacation pictures, this set looked very interesting so I thought I would put them up for everyone to see. There were a couple of supercharged Benellis, an inline 4 cylinder Ducati, the Morbidelli V8 of course and much more. Check out the photos and let us know what you think of Denny, Stu, Fred and Mark’s excellent adventure.
Thanks for sharing the photos, Denny, great trip! Oh, and he sent me some more photos of a few other stops they made, they look really interesting, too. We’ll put a few of those up soon.

Want to mention that ALL of the bikes had mirrors underneath them, even those that were original race bikes as raced, so you could see the entire bike. And on the wall behind each bike was a placard with the description, history, etc. in English! This helped big time since Giancarlo spoke so little English. Great bike guy like us!
