Terra Mostro dual sportWe showed you a couple of early photos of the Terra Mostro last year, a Ducati Monster based dual sport motorcycle. The bike is now in production, so if your riding tends to be a bit more adventurous than your sportbike riding friends would like, this might be you.

Long travel suspension, dual sport tires, spark arrester on the pipe, all of the things you would expect of a bike intended to take you on the road less paved. Overland Motorcycles builds the bike based on the Monster 695, Kayaba fork, Brembo brakes and all for $16,950.

There are no dealers, just visit their website and if you like what you see, give them a call.

This is beautiful. I of course want every bike I see, but this one, I think this one I may just start saving my pennies for.

Nice! Shame dakar rules state that no big twins are allowed, that would have been a true test of the Monster

That’s a good idea and a great realization. It’s true that between the rugged but slow donkeys like DRs and the fast but heavy horses like GS, there is not much choice for the all-terrain riders …

This concept is good for wide open spaces in the west, not the mountain wooden trails here in the east …

Now, k$16 is a lot too much for a 696 with a longer fork … :-/

Great finding, Paul !

Sweet! I was wondering what to do with my Monster when I get bored with it. …Nice work Overland.

Did anyone else cough when they read the price? I dont think the highest level monster is that expensive.

I love the concept, although I would prefer the bigger 1000 monster motor, and upside down forks, for that sort of money

” Shame dakar rules state that no big twins are allowed, that would have been a true test of the Monster”….

Isn’t the BMW considered a big twin? It has a bigger capacity than this Ducati.

Nice bike

It is and so is the Ktm adventure but they were made illegal a couple of years ago the largest twin allowed that i know about is the aprilia svx 450

hmm, ebay or craigslist monster with bent forks, same source for XR (or KTM USD) front end, fiddle with spacers and bearings to fit a rear XR wheel or keep the cast wheel and mod the front. In all one could potentially build this for less than the cost of a new Monster. Looks like grand fun.

Nice looking but $16k? I could have a gixxer 6 AND and wee-strom.

“Nice looking but $16k? I could have a gixxer 6 AND and wee-strom.” but, neither would look as good!

(You are right though,$16k is too steep)

So, ... what do YOU think?
