Vespa Lamp

Indian motorcycle lampHere’s another artist / craftsman making things from junk unused parts. Maurizio Lamponi Leopardi studied mechanical engineering in Milan but after a few years decided to go off in another direction. After working around the family’s artistic foundry and then trying his hand at photography he finally came up with the idea of creating art pieces, sometimes semi functional, as in the case of these lamps.

Bits and pieces from old scooters and other motorcycle related items, yield these scooter lamps. Handlebars are full size to give you an idea of scale so if you have a spot in your motorcycle or scooter themed office or garage studio, here’s something to consider. Checking random prices shows around $1500 and up.
