Orange County NAPA Drag Bike

The dysfunctional chopper builders have put together a drag bike. The show is scheduled to appear June 6th on the Discovery Channel. They haven’t released pictures yet but times are in the 9 second range. That doesn’t sound like your average OCC theme bike.

my god, the tech aptitude of those guys is amazing!

imagine, for less than $200,000 (maybe) those boys at occ were able to build a 2.5 Litre drag bike that was able to run a thousandth of a second under the 10 second barrier with the best drag pilot at the helm! and they only messed up a few minor things like not washing the engine after beadblasting (paul says: HEY! i don’t do detail work, my job is to stand around arguing with family all day.)

this might have been less shameful if gadson hadn’t taken a stock 600 (R6 if I remember right) to a faster ET last month….

I bet for under $50k you can get a modified Hayabusa under 10 seconds. Heck for all I know, a stock Busa can dial in at 9.99 seconds in the 1/4 mile.
Quite a bit less than $200k, but then one wouldn’t have the “prestige” of the bike being built by OCC (cough, cough) but you would have a bike built with better/modern technology & suspension.
