Acme Rocket Bike

February 24th, 2005 at 8:26 am by Paul Crowe - "The Kneeslider"

Acme Rocket BikeAnother U.S. builder of cafe racers is Acme Rocket Bike. I first saw one of their bikes on the Ace Cafe website. (Every time I check out the Ace Cafe I go nuts over some of the bikes.) Looked really nice so I checked out their site and made a mental note to go back for a better look. When I looked yesterday, it seems they redesigned their site and all they have is a home page with some clickable photos for a larger view. They are located somewhere in northern California but their website only has a phone number and no detailed info of any sort. Maybe it’s a work in progress. Their bikes look great but I have no idea whether they do custom work on demand, build bikes for sale or what.

They are located in Mendocino CA between Northwest of Ukiah. Evan Wilcox is does their metal work, and I believe Kosman (Santa Rosa, CA) does some of their mechanical and assembly work (at least on the Duc and Yam). Both Kosman and Evan Wilcox have websites.

Rob Stefano is the president. If you have a bike you want done I’m sure they can work it out. Currently I believe they’re working on a Guzzi. They also designed a run of small displacement bikes (125 or 250 cc I think) that should be coming out soon. Not scooters mind you, more similar to an old 250 Ducati.
