The fine folks at Metro Racing want you to know there will be some vintage flat track racing on June 25 and 26. Mert Lawwill is going to be there, the Metro Trophy Girls and a swap meet, too. Camping is available at the track.

Metro Racing is proud to announce that vintage flat track racing is back in Harpursville, NY on Friday, June 25th and Saturday, June 26th, 2010. Yes, Round 5 & 6 of the AMA Vintage Flat Track Grand Championship Series will be at the lighting fast 1/4 mile track at Square Deal Raceway just outside of Binghamton, NY.
Special guest this year is Mert Lawwill, Harley Davidson factory rider, star of On Any Sunday and AMA Grand National Champion. Mert will be on hand all weekend for some bench racing and autographs.
Along with some spectacular racing on flat track bikes from the 30’s through the 80’s on the track, there will be the Boots Oakley Swap Meet, and the Metro Trophy Girls.
Saturday night will feature the 4th Annual Larry Weiss Memorial Race with the handmade trophy awarded to the winner. Camping is available at the track for the weekend. For more information on the race or hotels in the

You guys in California are lucky enough to have Mert around your hood. We here on the East Coast are thrilled that he is finally coming out our way for this event. Should be a great turnout and some exciting racing at Square Deal – the best short track in the series! Hope to see everyone there. Peg

I’ll be there with my little boys… I never knew there was a venue in Harpursville. I’ve seen the tiny circle track in Owego (I live near there) but they do mostly speedway with the laydown style bikes
