Scott and Jon over at Conquest Customs wanted you to know about a special raffle going on for the Lucas Clark Education Fund. Lucas is the 4 year old son of Sgt. Michael K. Clark, left behind when his father was killed in action on October 7, 2008 in Mosul, Iraq. Sgt. Clark owned a 2007 Victory Vegas which, prior to going to Iraq, he had sent to Conquest Customs for the full treatment. Sgt. Clark was a customer and friend of the guys at Conquest and everyone involved decided a great way to help out his son, Lucas, would be to raffle off this custom Victory motorcycle to create a fund for his education. Sounds like a good idea to me.
There will be a maximum of 1000 tickets at $100 each. The drawing will be held at the American Victory Rally in Spirit Lake, IA, August 14-15, 2009. You don’t have to be present to win. For $100 you just might win a custom motorcycle and, even if you don’t win, you help out the family of one of our fallen soldiers. Interested? You can get all of the details at the links below.

Great initiative, hope they gonna get lot of good $$ for the kiddies.
other subject, that the picture is bringing up : you buy a $15-20k bike from Polaris or HD, you add another $5-10k at a custom shop to strip it bare down (is that english ?). You spent $30k in a bike that’s worth $7k of material, you paid for the labor to build it, the labor to unbuild it, the parts to build it and to throw away then … are you following me … ?
I’d love to have the opportunity to buy a bike without the body and accessories, cheaper than the complete one, and build mine as I want it to be … wait a minute, let me register a patent ! 😉

Nicolas has it all wrong.. Part of the enjoyment of owning a motorcycle is MAKING it your own. In this case, one of OUR war heros died and we are doing what ever we can to make sure that his son and mother are taken care of. One other thing.. you don’t have to take anything off of a Victory to have a custom cruiser……..

Hold on, Kevin, see the first sentence, I said it was a great initiative to take care of this fallen guy’s family.
Then I agree that it’s great to make your own bike, I’m myself working on this matter, I was thinking out loud that BUILDING your own bike should not consist in UNBUILDING an existing bike first.
Don’t get me wrong, buddy.
