Cutaway drawings and exploded views are a neat way to see how mechanical things go together but what if you did it with the real thing? There was an art exhibit in Turin where the artist took three Vespa scooters, left one intact, removed the outer panels on the next and completely disassembled the third. It was suspended with all of the parts in proper relationship, just like you would see on one of those diagrams in the manual when you’re trying to figure out the part number you need.
This same fellow did this before with a Volkswagen Beetle. Just think of some of the other possibilities. Of course, this is one of those things you might also expect to see as a college prank at one of those elite tech universities where the president finds his Audi neatly disassembled and on display. Hmm … I hope I didn’t just give someone an idea.
