Just wanted to make a note that The Kneeslider is moving to a brand new server, you know, kind of a big bore turbo setup. If everything goes as planned, you won’t notice a thing unless you happen to stop by before the bolts are tight and the covers are on. By the time most of you get here tomorrow, we’ll be cruising down the Interwebs in our spiffy new high performance digital hot rod. If you come by and see parts all over the place and you hear someone muttering to himself, that will be me out back in the server garage with an oil can and a hammer making some last minute fine adjustments.
Now, where did I put that impact wrench …

UPDATE: Since you’re reading this, it worked! I’m gonna have to get this thing on a digital dyno, we’re really flying and I hardly have the throttle cracked. There are more changes coming, lots of ideas and plans, just have to find the time. Now, back to our regularly scheduled blogging.

Can’t wait to see what we won’t notice ….

You’ll need a 0.010″ feeler gauge and rat-tail file. Always works for me!

Very funny, especially those in the tech industry. A hammer is the tool at times. Good luck

I can hear the turbo surge already 😛
good luck with the hammer

Again, thanks for all your good work on our behalf. This has become a virtually daily ritual to visit.

The tricky part will be setting the waste gate properly.

Oh, yeah… I forgot — you’ll need a 0.750″ spiral hand reamer to get those server ports just right. The finished bore must be 0.7502″ to 0.7506″. Otherwise, the data won’t flow properly.
Wait a minute… that’s for the small-end bushing on my B50. Never mind. Hey, I barely know a byte from a mouse. I just use the stuff. Get it working right, Paul. The Kneeslider is one of the most useful and pleasurable sites on the web. I almost never let a day go by without checking in at least once. There’s always something to learn, and it’s a good community.

Maybe, just maybe, we could count on new postings each day…..my Christmas wish? Keep up the good work, I’m constantly inspired by this site!

I’ll take that opportunity to thank you Paul again for this great site that you’re running.
It’s really a mandatory daily stop for me now, with the great and very diverse selection of topics, bikes and builders, along with the always fun comments too 😉
Keep up the good work !

New postings each day would be fabulous, but I think Paul works as hard as he can to get the postings as it is. He can’t be making a lot of advertising bucks from the site, and I expect he has a day job to pay the bills. I’ll be satisfied with the kind of postings he gives us now, and the new software will ensure it keeps coming in an uninterrupted stream.

To help him with the making some advertising bucks, all of us readers need to be actually clicking on the advertising links. I think thats how that usually works, so much for each click.
Paul Crowe - "The Kneeslider" says
Thanks Carolynne but it’s actually a better idea to click on an ad when you’re really interested in it. The individual advertisers pay for those clicks hoping to get an interested buyer to their site.
Generally, if there’s an ad anywhere on The Kneeslider, you can assume it will benefit the site in some way. If you are going to buy something that’s available on eBay or Amazon, going there through one of the links on this website (like those two right there), will put a few cents in The Kneeslider’s pocket when you make your purchase at no extra cost to you and it will help pay for things like dedicated servers and all of the associated costs of running a site like this. It’s an easy way to support this site when you buy something you were planning on buying anyway. Everyone wins.

A true gentleman you are Paul. There should be more men in the world with your integrity.
speaking of interesting stuff on ebay, did anyone happen to catch what the 1930s Norton went for yesterday, I didnt happen to catch the final bid last I saw it was at 16000

I was just thinking of furthering Carolynne’s warm fuzzy when the thought of all those electrons being wantonly sacrificed in the conversion to heat in the process of powering the more powerful Crowe Empire servers brought me up short. The horror, the horror.

oh come on thoughtless, free your emotions you we all know you have a sweet sensitive side you are tying to hide

note: if you can’t fix it with a hammer you have an electrical problem
keep up the good work Paul

The colors……..they’re BEAUTIFUL!!!
In true customizer fashion, it is the details that go un-noticed, but still benefit the overall construction, that often matter most.
Paul, good work with the server upgrade. I’m glad that nothing crashed, as this is a website that I check religiously. I used to be a custom motorcycle fabricator professionally, and I am still one at heart, and it is websites like this that remind me of how much I miss doing the craft everyday. Nearly every time I visit The Kneeslider, a fire lights up inside of me and pushes me to get back there somehow. For this I say THANK YOU!
I wish everyone and their families a very happy and healthy holiday season. Never stop crafting!
