The Kneeslider – the Motorcycle Magazine Rack

By Paul Crowe

My Internet connection from the friendly folks at Verizon decided to go offline this morning, (along with the connection of many thousands of others) so I thought I would use the time to catch up on the motorcycle magazines I’ve been piling up instead of reading. Found a few interesting items …

Hellion by Gregg DesJardinsGreggs Customs / GC-Cycles, one of our advertisers here at The Kneeslider, has a very nice 4 page story in the current Robb Report Motorcycling. The Yamaha Road Star powered Hellion, covered here back in August, is the highlight. Gregg DesJardins, the man behind the bike and company, seems to be gaining a lot of attention. Nice work Gregg, can’t wait to see what’s next. Dec/Jan Robb Report

Harley Davidson Sportster FV-01 cafe by Aldo Querio GianettoThe Triumph flat tracker from Italy covered a couple days ago isn’t the only Italian custom that looks interesting, Iron Works magazine has this HD Sportster given the café treatment from Aldo Querio Gianetto of Colleretto Castelnuovo, Italy. The Sportster has clip-ons and a nifty café racer seat with an integrated oil tank. A couple of braided oil lines running up the left side move the oil around. Nothing radical but nicely done. via December 2007 IronWorks

S&S P Series engineS&S is getting a lot of press for their X-Wedge but they also have a P Series engine which is basically an up to date S&S engine designed to look just like an old Panhead. If you’re reluctant to ride your old original Panhead because you’re not sure it will get you home, remove the old lump and drop in a new look alike that will run just like the new engine it is. Nice idea. If you can take a modern bike and make it look like an old classic, why not do the same with an engine? Found this in December 2007 The Horse. see also S&S

What about the panhead frame and pitiful half hub single leading shoe drum brakes?

    That Sportster is very nice!
