Do you ever catch yourself staring at a motorcycle? I don’t mean just looking at bikes, we all do that, I mean staring at a machine because it looks so damn good, everything is just right, every part relates to everything else, nothing added that doesn’t belong, it catches your eye and you smile. It happens to me all the time and it’s not just bikes, cars and airplanes do the same thing, self propelled motor vehicles have to be one of the most amazing things we tool using humans have ever created.
Back in 1998, The Art of the Motorcycle appeared at the Guggenheim Museum. The art world wasn’t sure what to make of it. Motorcycles? Art? You’ve got to be kidding. No, they weren’t kidding and the exhibit has attracted huge crowds ever since. This coming year, Orlando, Florida will be host from January 22nd to July 23rd, 2006. They have a whole host of things running in conjunction with the exhibit and the audio tour guide is Jay Leno.
If you need accomodations there is a special hotel package for museum visitors, special videos, lectures, educational programs, all very cool. If you’re in Florida for Bike Week, you might plan some extra time and scoot down to Orlando. If you’re looking for a good reason for a Florida vacation, now you have one. Hey, it’s educational, it’s for the kids, it’s … oh heck, just go!
