Remember that Ducati Monster transformed into a dual sport, called Terra Mostro? It looks like you can do the same thing with an old Suzuki GSX-R 1100 if you’re sufficiently motivated. All you need is a healthy mix of KTM and Ohlins suspension pieces, some engine mods that take the original 1100cc engine out to 1200cc, fab up some body parts and there you go, flying down the firetrails on your GSX-R MX.
RM Racing in Italy did the conversion, because … well, just because. Maybe not the perfect off road motorcycle but it looks like loads of fun and power would never be an issue.

Well exactly – why not?! I’ll bet that thing doesn’t so much as jump over bumps as fly…

Looks cool, I got an 03 750 where do I sign up *lol*

I do like the idea that a GSXR-1100 engine wasn’t enough for their dirtbike, so they hot rodded it up to 1200cc. Those Italian guys are madmen, and I salute them for their creativity. You gotta love passion, and the guys at RM Racing certainly seem to have plenty of that. Actually, if you put street tires on that thing it looks as though you’d have the basis for a pretty good urban pothole-dodger..

TOO HEAVY FOR A DIRT BIKE! PUT BACK THE LIGHTS AND TURN SIGNAL, AND YOU HAVE ONE HOT CITY TRACKER. RIDESAFE, MARK.

Exactly “Why Not?” Awesome work. Let’s hear it for original thinkers.

Couldn’t help but chuckle out loud at this one. It begs a question of mileage… as in, “How many tires per week???”
Would be a gas as a hooligan bike ~ I’m happy whenever someone saves a bike from rotting out in the woods. Just found this little XL125 and saved it. Already had someone donate a carb and cam to the project.
“WE TINKER, THEREFORE WE AM!!!”
Have fun guys!

pabs says
love it !
nobody says
How much lighter is it than any of the big “adventure tourers/disco dirtbikes”?
Pete P. says
About the same. The Big KTMs and BMWs are over the 400 lb. mark.

Looks great, but I’d like a swingarm about 3-4″ longer. I’ve wanted to do this with a Triumph Street Triple for the past year. Maybe….

With Roland Sands converting offroad 450’s to road racers, I guess a turnabout is fair play!
Jimmy says
cool!! looks like it would make a wicked super-moto with 17 inch wheels. man would that suprise the crap out of one of those wanna be roadracer squids on the street.
Azzy says
That could be fun… and scary.
9lives says
Too portly for motocross, but it would make a wicked supermoto.

I’m sure it’s crap your pants fun
but scary!
and therefore awesome
XituaX says
Maybe they will race it on the Erzberg Rodeo race in Austria, like this guy with the off road Yamaha R1: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N-DuzXcQ4qM.

I agree with most of the above comments, for a sit up right urban bike that can hold its own on twisty back roads that looks great.
Kurt von Ahnen says
Throw on some 17 inch wheels, slicks, and BOOM! You are winning Supermoto.
JohninVT says
Holy cow! A 160mph dirtbike. That thing must fling knobbies off the rear tire like a machine gun.
VMX1000 says
Absolutely wicked machine, love it, they should run an equivalent series to car racing’s CORR using bikes like this, that would be insanely cool.
