Cruising the listings on ebay I found this 350cc diesel Royal Enfield Bullet. A company out in Colorado promoting the use of biodiesel imported the bike and use it as a demonstrator.
This is obviously no hot rod, but on the other hand, it will run on biodiesel or straight vegetable oil, pretty neat. If you make your own fuel, you could run this thing practically free. This could be one helluva deal as long as you have plenty of time to get where you’re going.
This auction has ended, but you can see the current Royal Enfield Motorcycles for sale anytime.

I don’t think you can get more eccentric than this. I have always had a soft spot for eccentricity.

there’s always the problem with home brewed bio-diesel; it needs to be pre-heated and then entirely cleared out of the fuel system before you shut down. This adds a lot of complication and bulk so one might be best off just buying the formulated bio blend at the pump. Looks like a great idea though, I’m bookmarking it too!

Not really, Todd. If you run straight veggie oil, that’s true. Home brewed biodiesel, even B100, should run at most normal temperatures without a problem. When it’s gets really cold, then you have an issue, but with a motorcycle you probably won’t be riding in those temperatures anyway. If you’re going to store the bike, then you want to clear the lines with some regular diesel.
