Nicky Hayden on Laguna Seca pole

By Paul Crowe

Nicky Hayden at Laguna SecaNicky Hayden takes the pole for tomorrow’s U.S. MotoGP race at Laguna Seca. Hayden was consistently the fastest rider on the track and at one time during qualifying was over 1 second faster than the next fastest rider. Hayden turned in a 1:22.67, the only rider in the 22’s. Rossi is second with a 1:23.024. Barros had a 1:23.312. The lineup is then Bayliss, Edwards, Hopkins, Biaggi and Checa.

Nicky Hayden has a great opportunity to do very well tomorrow and we wish him the very best. It would be very nice to see him on the podium.
