Naked women and traffic cops

By Paul Crowe

Got your attention, didn’t it? Now I have nothing against traffic cops, for the overwhelming majority who do great work, stories like this just make them look bad. But explain to me why a stop on suspicion of drunk driving led these two cops to confiscate the woman’s cell phone, search it for photos and, finding some nude pictures, download them to their PDA and show those photos around to their buddies. One cop follows up by calling the woman and asking for a date.

Houston police officer Christopher Green did exactly that and his partner George Miller called for the date. What is going on out there? Putting nude photos on your cell phone in the manner of Paris Hilton could be risky these days. Lots of hackers trying to get in, but the police at a traffic stop? There are a lot of these stories of people in positions of authority abusing it for their own gain, nothing new in that but the stories get out now. Maybe the publicity will help decrease this type of stuff in the future, maybe not, but it gets old. Perhaps their buddies could rein these guys in before they start doing crap like this.
