Motorcycle powered Pro Challenge cars

By Paul Crowe

Pro Challenge Road RacerThe number of different cars powered by motorcycle engines is amazing. After I mentioned Baby Grands the other day, I was reminded of another series of cars called Pro Challenge. These cars come in two versions, an oval racer and a road racer, the first powered by a Kawasaki ZX1100cc or ZZR1200cc engine while the road racer gets a Kawasaki ZX 1200cc (standard) or ZZR 1200cc (optional). The oval racer has about 140hp while the road racer is around 185hp. Speeds are proportional from 150mph to 175mph respectively.

These racers are 3/4 scale and come in a variety of body styles covering many cars and even the Craftsman Truck body. The simple fact that these cars perform as well as they do reminds you of how much power the bikes really have.

Thanks, Dane, for the pointer.
