Interesting race.
With Rossi crashing out and taking Melandri with him, Gibernau crashing and several others, the field was down to 11 bikes at race end. Capirossi had the track dialed in and his Bridgestone tires seemed to be a big advantage over the Michelins of most of the others. Once he got past Biaggi, he just opened up a gap and dropped his lap times. Ducati, having just confirmed him for 2006, had to be very pleased.
