Mid Ohio Day Two

By Paul Crowe

What a difference a day makes. Eric Bostrom got off to a great start and the whole field had to try and catch him. In the process, Yates lost it in the same place he did the day before only this time he took out Mat Mladin in the process. Ouch. Mat was moving up from 6th after the start and made it to third before the incident. It would have been fun to watch Mladin and Bostrom duke it out for the lead, but we didn’t get the chance.

Honda had a weird problem with Jake Zemke’s bike, both days it started to cut out during the race. You would have thought they would have replaced anything possibly the cause of that. Maybe next time.

When Eric gets a good start he’s tough to beat and if Mat Mladin finds himself back in the pack it makes for an interesting race.

The Mid Ohio folks heard a lot from the riders about the surface transitions from asphalt to concrete and what would happen in the rain. I have a hunch they may do some work on that before next year’s race.

I’ll be looking forward to next year but more importantly, the rest of the races now have some excitement with the points shakeup. VIR should be interesting.
