For those of you not following along, we’ve been having a rather lively exchange on a previous post, MotoCzysz Unveiling Racebikes at Laguna Seca, and yesterday both Ryan Taylor, the Motoczysz Director of Communications and Michael Czysz himself weighed in. If you are the least bit interested in the development of the MotoCzysz race bike and some of the related opinions floating around, you should go over and read the post and the ensuing commentary. Very interesting!

Two criticisms from the earlier post were high center of gravity and wheelbase length.
Dirtbikes have a high center of gravity, yet they turn in very quickly. I’m not convinced having a higher than “normal” center of gravity is a negative (within reason). If the whole “puzzle” is put together correctly, the higher center of gravity might be the correct (and therefore better position) than trying to lower it for that given design. Moto Guzzi is finding that sweet spot to place their engine in the Breva 1100. (read Cycle World’s review of the handling of that bike, specifically with the placement of the engine.)
MotoGP bikes’ wheelbase is intentionally longer in order to keep the front wheel down. Rossi’s Yamaha is not a small bike.

I beg you do not get give up on an American bike. I may not be able to purchase the bike but in the near future I will. I love your C 1 design. I know that this will go in one ear and out the other but I need you to keep your presistance. Thank you for your time and I leave you with my Warrior Ethos.
I will always place the mission first.
I will never accept defeat.
I will never quit.
I will never leave a fallen comrade.

Very impressive. America needs an infusion of Michael Czysz spirit and determination. I am excited to see what MotoCzysz can and will do against the competition as time rolls on.
