Doers Builders and Positive People

John Britten 10 years later

By Paul Crowe

Yesterday’s post about the Britten for sale is even more interesting since the 10th anniversary of John Britten’s very premature passing is September 5th. The particular bike for sale is number 8, now owned by a Californian and I believe the one ridden by Andrew Stroud at Daytona. John Britten was a great example of those that do instead of talk and his V1000 a stunning rebuttal to the usual factory design process. The Britten V1000 is why I find some of the new companies with their own designs so refreshing, from Michael Czysz and his C1 to Confederate Motorcycles and their Hellcat and Wraith. It would be great to see many more individuals in the mold of John Britten but guys like him are always few and far between. The neat thing about it, though, is you never know when someone with vision, drive and determination will pop up, surprising us all with some new innovation. Keep your eyes open.
