Jesse Rooke is offering a new custom bike and made a deal with Swift Motorcycles to produce a limited run of 100. It’s called the Scrambler and is powered by an 80 inch Harley Davidson Evolution engine and transmission, it uses a Performance Machine bike kit, FMF exhaust, has 3 paint color options and the whole deal comes in under $30k. It’s DOT legal in all 50 states and comes with a one year warranty.
A quick look shows you the bike has standard frame geometry with mid mounted controls, in other words, a rideable custom. Interesting.
Then, as I was poking around Jesse’s web site I noticed another project he’s working on and it looks VERY sporty. It appears to be KTM power, single sided swingarm, PM wheels and sport bike dimensions, that’s something I’ll want to see when complete. Jesse used KTM power for his build off bike when he competed against Roland Sands, could be he found the engine worked pretty well and KTM seems to be coming out with a lot of interesting vehicles of their own. Custom KTMs? Very interesting.

Ehh… for “under 30k”, I think I’d want a little more than custom paint and cool wheels… it’s not a bad looking bike by any means, in fact it’s definitely my style – clean and simple, but I’d be a little embarrased to tell people how much I paid for it…
The second bike appears to be a mostly stock Superduke with PM wheels, and a custom single sided swingarm… depending on how custom he really goes, this might be a dream bike for me!

Does anyone else think the Evo & Twin Cam push rods look “wrong” now that the X-Wedge looks so much more purpose-built?
Jesse Rooke is using a kit from another builder (PM), then works with Swift Motorcycles, who then sells to the consumer for $30k ? “Pay up Sucker”

That custom swingarm looks like it would drag in left-handers

hoyt, I also thought the price of the Scrambler was maybe a bit high since the “custom” work seems limited. Especially since Tim Cameron’s bike comes in at $40k and that’s a pure computer design transformed into a real bike. As I said in a comment on that post, “If they can build this for 40k it could put some price pressure on some other builders who are basing their prices on nothing more than a name.” Maybe Jesse and some other builders need to take note.

To add a little more b.s., the wording on his website is written in a way that suggests it is a bargain…
“The best part? You can own one for under $30,000. ”
The ‘under $30,000’ is in italized, bolded letters.

Jesse’s Scrambler looks pretty , no make that VERY ordinary to my eyes. Added to the ‘unspecialness’ of this product is the ridiculous price… under 15 thou would not be inappropriate IMO.
And I’ve always disliked those d-ed doorstop tanks.

By now you would realize your paying for a name. Jesse Rooke (wonderboy). 30k for a bike linked to him is a bargain. Jesse gets a few grand,Swift gets a few grand, and I’m sure his buddy Roland (aka Performance Machine) is in on it too. Jesse gets 20k for a roller, so under 30 for a complete bike is therefor a bargain.

I could go out and build that bike for under 10k including motor and tranny. Still not a fan of the 21in? front and rears.
Not to mention he lifts the name SCRAMBLER which is an iconic name in the motorcycle world and its damn near the complete opposite.
