Practice at the Phillip Island MotoGP circuit has been marred by injuries. Kenny Roberts, Jr. crashed during practice, fracturing his wrist and is out for the race and possibly the remainder of the season. Loris Capirossi crashed heavily during practice and was transported to a local hospital where some internal bleeding was discovered.
