TheKneeslider.com – Honda just announced that at the end of December 2005, worldwide production of the Super Cub reached 50 million units. What is even more interesting are the photos of both the first generation Super Cub of 1958 and the 50 millionth unit, they are so close to identical you could almost look at the newest model as being the old one with a few options.
Honda notes the U.S. was their first export market back in 1959 (Did anyone expect what that would lead to?) and it’s currently produced in 13 countries and available in 160. That’s an amazing run! And all this time I thought the Vmax design was unchanging.

Did you see that Honda recently unveiled their new F1 race car? On the back of the rear wing, in big letters, it says “DON’T WALK”. The message isn’t lost on the millions around the world that buy a little Honda motorbike every year.

It’s a shame that Honda doesn’t see fit to import a bike a successful as the Cub or any other into the US any more. Heck, the average price of a clean used trail 90 or 110 in the US is about what a new one would go for.
