Gearhead Designs Motorcycle Decor

By Paul Crowe

Boxer Lamp by Gearhead DesignsDig around in your garage and what do you have? Look under the workbench, don’t forget that box behind the trash can, pretty soon you have an old piston or two, a rear sprocket and old chain, maybe some transmission parts, but what are they good for?

Well, Gearhead Designs started when Randel dug around a bunch of old motorcycle parts he had lying around, put them all together, ran a bit of wire and made a lamp. Next thing you know, someone says, “Hey, that’s cool.” So they give him more parts and pretty soon he’s building lamps, desk lamps, table lamps, all made out of old motorcycle parts. Each one is different because it depends on what he happens to have in his box of bits. He tries to keep the parts for each lamp together from the same motorcycle, like a Ducati 250 race motor that turned into the “Desmo Rose.”

If you need something special for that garage loft or your motorcycle theme den, check it out.
