As we noted one year ago, the assets of Dymag were bought up by CSA Ventures and we just received notice that Dymag motorcycle racing wheels are back with a whole new website and production has restarted.
Sounds like good news to me!
Press release follows: —
Legendary Dymag wheels are back!
Iconic motorcycle racing wheels brand Dymag has been brought back to life thanks to new owners CSA International Limited, which is now manufacturing the legendary wheels in the UK again.
Dymag motorcycle racing wheels were first produced in the early 1970s and were the world’s first 3-spoke magnesium racing wheels later used by the legendary Eddie Lawson to win the AMA Superbike Championship in 1981 and 1982 , as well as the World Motorcycle GP Championship in 1984.
Following the success of Dymag on the international racing circuit it quickly became the wheel of choice for classic and modern racing enthusiasts across the world. Unfortunately Dymag faced financial and production difficulties in 2009 which led to administration during the global recession.
Since those dark days which saw one of the most famous racing wheels disappear from the international bike scene the Dymag brand has been completely revived and production is already underway.
The Dymag range has already been restarted with production of the Classic H3 (17 and 18-inch), Superbike SB5 17-inch and Road Racing TT3 (hollow 3-spoke) magnesium wheels, and with 5 spoke carbon motorcycle wheel production underway.
Chris Shelley, Chairman of CSA International Limited, the new owners of the Dymag brand and designs said: “Dymag is a legendary brand respected by racing and bike enthusiasts across the globe for design and performance excellence. We are currently investing heavily in new production processes and equipment to modernise the manufacturing process and shorten delivery leadtimes.
“Dymag’s strength has always been its racing pedigree and innovative designs. We possess the most comprehensive collection of designs for motorcycles dating back over 4 decades. Our mission is to fuse the passion and innovation of this iconic brand with 21st century production and customer services.â€
A history of Dymag is currently being collated to capture the evolution of the legendary racing wheels from its inception in the 1970s. Dymag is looking for racing enthusiasts who have any stories and memories to track the history of these iconic wheels. Send your recollections to tom.grocott@leader.co.uk.
The expanding range of Dymag performance motorcycle wheels is available through the recently launched Dymag product website www.dymag.com. All Dymag wheels are available for most fitments and are certified for racing and road use including DOT and JWL. Special re-launch promotional offers are currently available on the Dymag retail website.
Dymag is also offering a complete design package for special motorcycle and car projects, as well as a full refurbishment service for all motorcycle and car wheels.

Great to see.
I was sad to see the classic dymags go away. Hopefully they are still making the single-sided swingarm versions…
And maybe even a version for BMW motorcycles? With the dymag 3-spokes that are not directional, it could be reversible for both K and R bikes rear paralever Evo attachment, even though they are opposite sides. The 3-spoke flat section wheel might look very cool on the Duolever front end with it’s aero spats, too.

What was the purchase price? Anyone know.

According to the site, a set of 17 inch classic three spokes runs just under 1700GBP, which converted to US currency is about $2800. Not cheap, but man do they ever look cool!

I was referring to what CSA Ventures paid for the entire company. I just find the numbers interesting – and usually surprisingly small for entire operations purchased out of receivership.

Awesome! Glad to hear they’re back. Too bad I can’t afford a pair of wheels from them, though =(

I would love to see Dymag make a classic set of wheels for vintage bikes in narrow 18 inch sizes. (No one currently makes light weight mag wheels in 18 inch as far as I know).
There are so many guys doing vintage cafe racers, street trackers and other similar specials these days, it would seem that there would be a good size market ..
It would be a lighter alternative to alloy/spoke rims which are today, really the only choice.
