Attended the Cleveland Cycle World show yesterday and enjoyed the bikes. I was a little disappointed that the Monster Challenge was not part of this stop on the tour but I had the opportunity to look at a lot of other displays. I had an up close look at the new Harley Davidson Street Rod and it looks like a Harley I could ride. The footpegs are back under the rider where they’re supposed to be instead of out front in the living room recliner position. From the specs it looks a little more aggressive than the usual HD products. The liquid cooled engine is their high output powerplant and it seems like they are going after a less traditional Harley rider than the other bikes in their lineup. Maybe they’re getting a little cross fertilization from the Buell side of the family.
I also ran into an old friend who I had not seen in years and he has a business rebuilding and refitting Honda CL450’s and CB450’s and turning them into cafe racers. He makes his own billet parts and does some really nice work. I plan to take a closer look at his shop in the near future and I’ll let you know what I find. Stay tuned.
