After our recent look at the Revelation Honda sport custom and a Buell sport chopper it seemed only right to go Italian and take a look at these Ducati powered choppers from 13 Choppers of Oceanside, Calilfornia. 13 Choppers has been around for a couple of years and received some attention when the choppers first appeared in a few shows and the motorcycle press picked them … [Read more...]
Diesel Powered Bobber Chopper
Well that didn't take long. Right on the heels of the Audi diesel winning Sebring, Bruce wrote in with a few details of his homemade diesel powered bobber chopper. The build started when his son began a science project on renewable fuels. When they got caught up in the idea of making their own fuel the next logical step was building a bike to try it out. Alfa Romeo 2.5 liter V6 Harley
The site says this is a 2.5 liter Alfa Romeo V6 in a Harley frame of some sort. It uses the Harley 4 speed transmission and is, check the photo, a kick start! No other details. However, once done, you have the raw input data for today's technology to do … [Read more...]
Honda RC174 Replica
Honda's 6 cylinder 297cc RC174 racebike ridden by Mike Hailwood has been one of the more amazing race bikes ever built. The April issue of Motorcyclist magazine has the story of George Beale, a retired pharmacist, who has scratch built a number of replicas, taking on and completing the replication of the tiny Honda. Fascinating story of the highly advanced technology Honda used … [Read more...]
