When I first started writing about diesel motorcycles it struck me as a bit unusual, I really wasn't aware of some of the latest advances in adapting diesel engines to a motorcycle frame but of course, the Thunder Star 1200 got me thinking about the possibilities. That bike gets 150mpg and looks like it should get pretty impressive performance to boot. Now there's biodiesel to … [Read more...]
Machining model engines
Some hobbies or skills are so utterly amazing and turn out such fine work as their end product, it almost takes your breath away. It's no secret The Kneeslider is biased toward the technical side of things and I personally find mechanical components that work together totally fascinating. The other day I posted about metal casting and today, in a related area, I want to touch … [Read more...]
Motoczysz C1 990

Greasecar – why not greasebike?
Despite the life threatening dangers of biodiesel, here is a neat system that will get your diesel powered car on the road with a fill up at the back door of your local greasy spoon. If they could make it a little smaller, diesel motorcycles could use it as well. Take straight vegetable oil and this kit and you're off. I think this is very cool. If I was driving a diesel, I'd … [Read more...]
CEM – Cylindrical Energy Module
Yesterday I noticed another article about the apparent upcoming Duesenberg Torpedo Coupe, where once again, a famous old name is used to give a brand new concept car the aura of a classic. That's another subject altogether. However, there were two things I didn't notice before. One, is the company is also designing a motorcycle to carry the name with a scheduled introduction at … [Read more...]
