This recumbent motorcycle looks like it has been strongly influenced by the Japanese movie Akira. These renderings are very cool but since I do not read Japanese I can't tell you anything about it. From the looks of it, it appears to be powered by an electric motor, which could be the cylindrical object behind the front wheel, there are also no obvious exhaust pipes … [Read more...]
Yamaha Tokyo Motor Show Special Site
If you're among the vast majority who could not make it to the Tokyo Motor Show, Yamaha has put together a special site with all of their motorcycles that were on display. It's pretty nice. Everything is there with 360 degree rotations and you get to see them all, the Sakura, the MT-01, even close up action of the Tesseract leaning quad. It's worth a visit. Link: Yamaha … [Read more...]

VMAX Awakens Need 6
In Yamaha's extremely long lead up to their new V-Max, they had a display at the Tokyo Motor Show titled "The VMAX Awakens Need 6." There was a highly stylized video with a rear tire smoking and a 3D profile artwork of a new V-Max, or rather, parts of the bike in a semi assembled state. I found a video and grabbed these screenshots from a Japanese website showing the Tokyo … [Read more...]

You've seen the new bikes from Honda and Yamaha scheduled for the Tokyo Motor Show, which one do you like best? The four shown here appear closest to production, the Crosscage and Biplane from Suzuki appear to be pure concepts so they're not included. If every one of these 4 went into production, which one would you be most likely to buy, if any? Why? Only one vote allowed. … [Read more...]
