Yesterday's post about the single tracked all terrain motorcycle designs reminded me of these WWII motorcycle tank hybrids. Very odd vehicles and I'm not really sure of the reasoning behind their construction, why the motorcycle front end was necessary isn't clear, the one site says it's for stability at high speeds and you actually could remove it in really rough terrain, but … [Read more...]
BMW M6 races Honda and Suzuki
Speedometers sometimes read a bit high when they get to the high end of the dial but this video shows a BMW M6 flat out against a Honda CBR1000RR and a Suzuki GSXR1000. The BMW indicates 330kmh (205mph) as he rolls past the bikes. OK, car wins this one. Now, where are the turbo and nitrous Hayabusas when you need one? Usual disclaimers, don't try this, etc., etc. video no … [Read more...]

Liquid hydrocarbon fuels are really energy dense which is why all of those batteries and fuel cells are having a hard time serving as substitutes since you need a lot more hydrogen or whatever else to make up for a small … [Read more...]
Honda Gold Wing powered GRX
Another design in the Michelin Challenge Design 2006 is this entry from Honda. The GRX is powered by the 1500cc six cylinder engine used in the Honda Gold Wing. (Thanks, Aaron, for pointing that out.) We like motorcycle powered cars a lot here at The Kneeslider, and this is an example of what happens when you put the corporate design team to work on the idea. For some time … [Read more...]
Hyanide and Baal – all terrain motorcycles

Ready to do battle with sand, snow or anything else, the Hyanide and Baal design concepts are part of the Michelin Challenge Design 2006 that's taking place at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit. Both the Hyanide and Baal designs are based on a bendable rubber track. The … [Read more...]
