Matchless Motorcycles for sale

Matchless motorcyclesMatchless motorcycles began in 1899 like many companies, selling engines for bicycles and began building motorcycles in 1902. Matchless engines were one of the engines used in the Brough Superior. Matchless bought AJS in 1931 and later became AMC, Associated Motor Cycles. It's hard to keep all of the company business sorted out but Matchless did produce many well known bikes such as the 500cc G50 and a V4 called the Silver Hawk. Both AJS and Matchless models were basically identical but with different badges. AMC bought Norton in 1951 which did better than the AJS and Matchless parts of the company. AMC became part of Norton-Villiers in 1967 after which the 748cc Matchless G15 was produced. Production ceased in 1969.
