Chinese Motorcycle Design Curiosities

by Paul Crowe - "The Kneeslider" on 1/20/2009

in China, Motorcycle Business, Motorcycle Design

Some examples of Chinese motorcycle design are inspiring. Take this example for instance, maybe it’s just me but this HBMoto “250 Sport Cruiser” looks like it was “inspired” by the Storz XR1200. Just a coincidence I suppose. Of course, no one is going to mistake this 250 for a 1200 but c’mon.

Some U.S. senators, from Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, New York and Missouri, the states where HD has a presence, are asking the U.S. to put pressure on China to relax [...]

in China, Motorcycle Travel

As often happens, our readers find some of the best stories and this one is an excellent example. Tom left a comment on our story about Harley Davidson’s newest China dealership where he pointed to a thread over on ADVrider about a real ride across China on a 200cc dual sport motorcycle with lots of [...]

by Paul Crowe - "The Kneeslider" on 11/16/2007

in China, Motorcycle Business

Harley Davidson now has another dealer in China. Their first was in Beijing, this one’s in Shanghai. I’m still curious how they’ll do over there. Lots of restrictions from what I understand.
Harley Davidson press release:
Harley-Davidson opened its first authorized dealership in East China on Nov. 3, 2007 in Shanghai. Jim Ziemer, CEO of Harley-Davidson Inc., [...]
