Russian homemade snow scooter
The Russians have a lot of snow covered terrain and it looks like they have a lot of time to tinker. There's a whole page of homemade Russian snowmobiles with all sorts of interesting contraptions, including this snow scooter. Sort of looks like a mini-Kettenkrad, doesn't it? No details other than what you can gather from the photos but it's a pretty nifty cold weather ride.
If you check out the page you'll find lots of other machines with motorcycle engines and skis making use of the materials at hand. Although these are very cool, I'm glad we're past winter and into spring. Maybe when the cold weather returns we can look at these for inspiration.

I’m just wondering how does the track stays on the wheels, as there is no guides.
Interesting concept/mockup ? The tiny engine would be sadly lacking in the power department and I recon those tracks would walk off the big wheels about every couple of minutes. I give the person points for building such an outlandish machine ,real or photo shoot mockup.
Check out the detail…hand wind guards? Undoubtedly a lot of top end performance on tap from that mighty GY6 clone engine. Am I seeing the answer to the power and tread-walking problems at the rear….looks like a human oriented pushbar!!
When it comes to making the run for vodka, nothing will stop this Russian from the trek. Wonder how many Russian kids it takes to push it home?
