Boeing T-50 jet turbine powered Honda Magna
Maybe you aren't Jay Leno and you can't afford a Y2K Turbine motorcycle, but you have this crazy desire to listen to the whine and smell the burning Jet A or diesel fuel while you're cruising down the road, ... well, here's your answer. This is a Boeing T-50 jet turbine powered Honda Magna. It's for sale on eBay and he's asking $7000.
The T-50 has 300 pounds of thrust, 400 with the afterburner. The motorcycle is thrust driven but can be converted to wheel driven. The builder seems to be the real deal, he previously built a turbine powered Porsche 928, I'm guessing he spends a lot of quality time out in the garage.
This Honda is a lot cheaper than the Y2K and probably a lot faster than the pulsejet bicycle. Just be careful what's behind you when you spin it up.

I dont think Id WANT to ride it then, it looks like they might get burned by the exhaust!
I’d honestly only get on this with a fire suit, those pipes seem WAY too close to the legs to be comfortable. It looks like it would be a fun ride, and in a sea of clones, THIS is original.
I wonder how far that tank of fuel would get you, 2 miles maybe?

Goofy looking and about as practical as one of those old cars that were driven via propeler power.
So here is the big question…..why would you jet power a Magna in the first place?! It was ugly in the 80’s….it’s still ugly now. Wait, I remember…..frying Geo Metro’s front plastic bumper is more fun than hunting gators on a Friday night.
Look, it certainly isn’t going to win any beauty contests and it probably isn’t the least bit practical, I would guess it gets hot and the range is short, … so what? Didn’t you ever build something just to see if it would work? Just for the heck of it? Just because? This isn’t a factory effort, it’s a garage build just for fun.
Looks like great fun. The Okie/White Trash-Cruiser look only adds to the appeal. You’d probably get dusted by someone on a Honda Rebel though.
Good thing there’s the after-burner, you’ll need it to fend off all those angry Metro’s waiting for it to spool up and get moving.

Let me back up the “Honda Rebel” claim; 15 ft/lb torque X 24.36:1 overall gearing = 365 LBF of thrust at the rear wheel – one for each day of the year…
I think it’s a hoot and like the builder says, you need some nerve to ride it. At least no-one would ever tailgate you. Putting the afterburner on at night would be very impressive. I think I’d want the turbine to power the thing through the driveshaft but I wonder how the driveline would cope with all that torque? I presume you can run it on jetfuel, as well as diesel and alcohol (the diesel would probably be a bit smoky though).
Yes it’s ugly but that’s not the point.

I understand the “just because” and “to see if I could” motivation behind a build like this. It takes a certain mindset and determination (and skill) to actually complete. Now it is an opportunity for a showman/daredevil type to acquire for demonstration runs at dragstrips or some such. Nitro Circus, perhaps?
To anyone that constructs a bike as bonkers as this, I say good luck to you and thank goodness there are people like you in the world…

I wish I had the imagination to come up with the idea,the energy to locate everything and the skill to actually build it and make it work.My hat is off to all those amazing builders who actually do what i can only dream about, and I love reading about this odd beat customs!!! well, given that the builder has raised the minimum bid up to $18,000 (with comments about preventing low-ballers), it’s not exactly a cheap toy, and sure as hell not “street legal”. but definitely useful, if you need to reset your neighbors’ standards about “loud”
I’ve heard there’s a HUGE delay in throttle response time on these things. Things happened very fast in traffic. I think that’d make it scary as hell to ride.
