A friend of mine bought a "leftover" Desmosedici RR, so I asked him if the dealer had said anything about the wiring harmess recall. What the dealer said was, when the bike was initially started (at the dealership) the "check engine" light came on, so they called Ducati... Ducati (North America??) said the problem was in some sort of a wiring "sub-harness", they sent the dealer a replacement part, and this fixed things, or, at least, the "check engine" light went out. Now, I don't know if these problems are related, but to me, it looks like there may be two separate problems (mis-routed wiring harness, *and* bad "sub-harness.") And yes...it seems kind of "sad" that after paying $72,000, (or $52,000) for a motorcycle, this sort of "stuff" still happens. FWIW. I'll get that looked at right away. LOL I'd say the risk of crash due to damage of the wire harness is relatively small . . . after all, it's pretty hard to crash when the bike is on a pedestal in your display area. Thanks!
