Anyone know why nothing on Harley Davidson?? Maybe I missed something.

Because he waved and they didn’t wave back?

I’m guessing they’re concentrating more on modern sport bikes, looking at the list of shows, although you’d think you’d see Honda over MVA with that list. But it seems to me if the series is about the history of motorcycling, even if you’re going to concentrate on sport bikes, Harley, along with Triumph, Norton, BSA, Honda, and a number of other very big names are being left out. On the other hand, it’s just 8 episodes. Maybe this is something of a “pilot” and there’s a potential for the show continuing further.

The shows are the result of a trip through current motorcycle factories in Europe and Japan. This post is only an update to the earlier posts which you can read by following the link in the beginning of this update telling you more about this series.

Cool! I’ve got to set the DVR. I don’t care much about Harley, but I sure would like to see Buell.

I’d also like to see KTM, Triumph, Aprilia, Benelli, Confederate, Fischer . . .

Maybe we can get a second round if they get enough viewers.

I don’t get Discovery HD. Why don’t they show it on the regular Discovery?

Don’t worry if you can’t get Discovery HD. The series is available on youtube. I watched Yamaha, Honda, BMW and AlpineStar last night. It may not be on a big screen but you can set your own schedule.

Is this more than what they already have on the Twist the Throttle website? Right now you can watch a 38 minute “clip” all about Honda. In this clip they look at the history of Honda, go to the Honda factory in Japan and the one in Ohio that makes the Gold Wing, and of course they ride the new CBRs.

All the others are online as well, most are more than 20 minutes long. They are very interesting, informative, and entertaining (I’ve watched them all.)

If you go to http://turbo.discovery.com/ then click Motorcycles then Watch Video then Twist the Throttle all the shows are available. Of course if you want HD and 5.1 surround you’ll have to wait till they are shown on TV

Dylan over at TwistingAphalt is the guy behind these. Upcoming is the Ducati episode and the one I’m waiting for is the interview with Tamburini and video from his design studio. I know he was super excited after getting back from Europe with the latest video he had captured for the series. I’m definitely looking forward to it!

The Discovery HD stuff is appearing on YourTube (via enthusiasts). From what I understand via Dylan, it will all go to DVD as well for distribution for people who want for their archives.

I’m glad to see someone documenting all this other cool motorcycle stuff. It’s a great change from the admittedly overrated / oversaturated “reality chopper” stuff that has permeated television the past few years.

Thanks to all you guys who provided alternate sources to see this series. I don’t know if it’s my cable service provider (Bresnan) or if it’s that I’m looking in the wrong place, but I couldn’t find the series on any of the Discovery channels today. It was scheduled for 4pm eastern time, but it’s all Dirty Jobs or Deadliest Catch. Ugh.

Snoots 04.29.09 at 12:20 pm

Has anyone come across a torrent for these yet? I’ve been looking around, but no luck.

I see that they’re streaming over at their website, but I’d rather save that for a last resort, as I’d prefer to watch them in full HD. ;o)

Great show! Please tell me you will do Harley Davidson and Brit bikes.
