Sash and Jacques, I have an idea of what might be the issue, it will take some work to fix but it seems to be a minority of users who experience it.

Superdude4agze, I'm working on some image options. A wider content column allows bigger images even without a zoom which is a step in the right direction but more options are on the way.

zipidachimp, the old look and width were getting, well, ... old, but I have to limit how wide I go until everyone gets wide screens.

Thanks for all of the input from everyone!

it's getting so that you can't buy a standard monitor anymore, they're all widescreen! too many websites are not taking advantage of this, and look anemic. I've got a standard 20" lcd, and this site still has 2" of unused landscape
on each side! sure wish there was a fix, and I'm glad I didn't go widescreen.
nice work Paul!

Looks good. Now make the photos clickable to go to high res versions. You find so much unique content with no way of getting a close up look without having to go elsewhere.

Hmm, ... I've tested quite a bit on a PC with both Explorer and Firefox with no issues. Guess I have to dig into this a bit more. Are you running the latest version of the browser?

Same thing as Sash, the sidebar looking for room, but with Explorer on a PC.
