I have also owned a lot of Harleys and can honestly say that weld cracks have never been a big problem. Even my old ironhead sporty frame stayed together just fine and as many have experienced they do suffer from a major case of the shakes. As for the bikes ( H.D. copies from Japan ) they have as many recalls as any one else, there is not a machine made that will not have some sort of product problem , some simply choose not to recall until they are forced to. At least H.D. is up front about it.

Geez...None are perfect...did anyone give thought to how many welds a day come out of a robotic arm? Sorry, but it's part of having anything we humans preside over!

I have had over 45 motorcycles with a 30 something being Harley Davidsons. Additionally, I also build custom bikes, too. And yes...I'll take my Geezer Glide, ride it all night long and know when I put my bike to rest that all is fine.

This is just an anomaly, the Harley stand is the best designed in the business, I wish the Harley stand was on my goldwing. As far as recalls go this is minor, the frame welds cracking on the Honda GL1800's was huge.

Note how few Honda recall there have been considering the number of motorcycle they produce. Their product line may not be the most advanced but the quality control is there.
