Cardboard Motorcycle Trike

As the weather turns a bit chilly and you're looking for an indoor hobby, how about building a motorcycle in your living room where it's warm or maybe the spare bedroom? Before your significant other starts threatening to kick your butt out into that cold garage, explain it's just a cardboard sculpture and besides, you're doing your part to recycle at the same time.

Along the lines of some of the other paper and scrap art we've covered, these cardboard motorcycles and scooters look pretty cool. No directions come with these, the artist just made them from scratch so you're on your own if you want to do the same. It will be a perfect way to get rid of all of the boxes from those Christmas presents.

Very nice …. but they get wet and soggy when I put gas in it.

Although I think I’d rather spend the hours building an *actual* motorcycle or scooter, these are interesting works of art in their own right. I like them! =)

These are from the ancient, but little known Japanese motorcycle company called “Oragami”.

Stunning. Absolutely stunning. While cardboard may seem to be a ridiculously easy medium to work with, the effort to execute that cleanly goes far beyond appearances. Try to recreate that front tire and wheel on the v-twin trike and you’ll know what I mean.

Beautiful work.

Do you see he does the chains too! Hopefully he has a CNC laser cutter.

These are incredibly impressive. But there are some bikers, like me, who live in places where we get to ride year round. Except for earlier this week when there was frost on everything.

I know, I think it actually dipped into the 40’s last night!
