Buell XB12XP and XB12XT RecallBuell has issued a recall for some 2008 and 2009 Buell XB12XP and XB12XT motorcycles for problems with windshield mounting nuts. Please read the details below for specific models and years.

Manufacturer: Buell Motorcycle Company
Model Year: 2008-2009
Models affected: XB12XP, XB12XT
Buell XB12XT 2008-2009
Buell XB12XP 2009
NHTSA Campaign Number: 08V538000
Potential Units Affected: 624
Problem: Buell is recalling 624 model year 2008-2009 XB12XT and model year 2009 XB12XP motorcycles. The windshields may become dislodged and allow the windshield to either strike or distract the rider while the vehicle is being ridden at a high speed. This could result in a crash, which could cause injury or death to the rider.

Corrective Action: Dealers will remove the windshield's two rubber mounted nuts and install two new fastener assemblies. The recall is expected to begin on or about October 27, 2008. Owners may contact Buell at 1-414-342-4080.
