The agreement for Harley Davidson to acquire the MV Agusta Group, announced July 11th, has been completed.
In conjunction with the acquisition, Harley-Davidson has appointed Matt Levatich as managing director of MV Agusta Group. Levatich, 43, joined Harley-Davidson in 1994 and has served in various roles, including positions in Harley-Davidson Europe sales and marketing, based in England.
The sale puts MV Agusta and Cagiva under the Harley Davidson banner. Harley will continue to operate MV Agusta Group from its headquarters in Varese, Italy.

Do you think we’ll start to see Buell and MV influence each other in any particular way?
Does this mean Harley-Davidson owns Aermacchi again? It was my understanding that Cagiva owns, or at some point did own. Aermacchi so if Harley-Davidson’s purchase of MV includes Cagiva, does it now own Aermacchi or what’s left of it for a second time?
Look what happend when ford bought jaguar. To me, jaguars look like $60K taurus 2 doors. If harley decides it would be cheaper to use in house forks rather than marzacocci it would certainly change the look.
quite the example you brought up there, ford and jaguar. just look at what happened when ford bought jaguar, they became SUCCESFUL! as did land rover and aston martin! and i see this deal going the same way, harley keeping MVs as MVs, yet making them more known and profitable.
