Kimi Raikkonen Wants to Try Motorcycles

April 8th, 2008 at 10:42 am by Paul Crowe - "The Kneeslider"

Kimi RaikkonenWhat is it with these Formula 1 drivers? First Michael Schumacher starts racing motorcycles, just a hobby, or so he says, and now Kimi Raikkonen, current F1 champ, wants to throw a leg over a MotoGP bike. That’s right, all he’s really ridden is a motocross bike, but he wants to get on the premiere 2 wheel racing machine and have a go at it.

Of course, he may have a feel for tracks just like Schumacher and surprise a lot of people but I would think the Ferrari folks would be a little leery of having their high dollar driver zipping around on 2 wheels.

Thanks for the tip, Zipi.

Nothing against the car guys, but to answer your question, “What is it with these Formula 1 drivers?” — motorcycle racers have more fun.

Well, Ferrari turned Valentino Rossi loose in one of their F1 test chassis…so why not the other way around?!?!

No, he won’t turn competitive laps out of the box, but as long as he doesn’t get cocky, he won’t likely hurt himself.

Guys who like going fast like to mix it up I am sure. I just hope he doesn’t end up with a tennis injury like his old teammate Montoya did ;o]
