Ducati Desmosedici for Rent

If you’re not ready to write a check for a Ducati Desmosedici (actually you can’t, they’re sold out) but you absolutely need to know what it’s like to ride, you’re in luck because there’s one for rent. We Rent Motorcycles, a rather unique rental agency located in Newport Beach, California, will allow you to ride off for a day of excitement and adventure on this street legal MotoGP machine. Of course, as you would expect, not just anyone with a credit card and driver’s license can throw a leg over this baby and ride off. Their rental terms for their interesting and varied fleet of vehicles, are quite strict.
To rent the Ducati:
… requires a motorcycle endorsement, a resume showing your riding history and experience level, a recent photograph of yourself standing next to your current motorcycle, a statement of net worth showing $100,000+ USD and a letter of recommendation from a reputable source (like a Ducati dealer). You are not allowed to take the bike outside of California and you must make arrangements for proper security for the bike if you will be keeping it overnight. If the bike is stolen while in your possession, you will be liable for $75,000.
You must ride the bike on public streets and highways. Although, the temptation will be unbearable, you are not allowed to take the Desmosedici to the track where it belongs.
You must weigh less than 250 pounds fully suited up and you must be reasonably fit. Upon arrival, you will be asked to take a short ride-around on a ZX10 to demonstrate to us that you are familiar with riding a sport-bike.
The Desmosedici requires a $3,000 USD deposit on a credit card for static display or a $25,0000 USD deposit on a credit card or bond.
Stiff requirements, to be sure, but what did you expect?
If a Desmosedici isn’t your preference, you can rent a Travertson V-REX, a 502 Boss Hoss BHC-3, a CAN-AM Spyder or several other very nice but less unusual motorcycles including a Kawasaki Concours 14 ABS, A Harley Davidson Road King, a BMW K1200LT and more.
There are several agencies that provide similar rentals for exotic cars, why not exotic bikes?

LMAO! If you were stupid enough to agree to these terms, chances are you aren’t smart enough to make this kind of money. $100,000.00 deposit…oh wait I mean $25,000.00 deposit for a machine that can be tipped over so easy. Just doesn’t add up to me? I doubt there will be any takers. I’ve been riding Ducati’s for 10 years and would NEVER ride this thing on the street.
It is not made for the street and anyone seeing riding it on the street will look like an ass!

I agree Aaron,
I could afford to do this but why?
I have rented from another outfit call sportbike rental.
Here is the link
http://www.sportbikerental.com they have the new Ducati 1098’s for rent. I rented from them in December at the race track. The bike was not a Desmo, but I only had to leave a small deposit and had a blast at California Speedway. They also rent for the street but I really wanted to see what the bike could do on the track. It was more then you could belive. The Desmosedici would be a handful anywhere. I might rent a desmo if they carried one, just won’t dish out 25k to do it.

I agree with Aaron. A good friend of mine is lucky enough to afford a Desmosedici. He won’t ride the thing around LA because of all the traffic. It just takes one mishap and you are out 25K min. I have sat on this bike and it seems to feel street worthy but I would never ask to borrow one from a friend and would NEVER consider renting it! You would look like an ass as Aaron already stated, in addition, how could you ride a bike knowing that if you tip it you will loose 25,000 big ones! NO THANKS!
I’ll sitck with the 1000.deposit for a Ducati 1098 from http://SportbikeRental.com

Werentmotorcycles.com is the dumbest website EVER! He talks about that they are for riders but he wants HUGE deposits from riders.

WERentMotorcycles.com is LAME. I know of at least two people locally who have been told to pound sand by this company. They have a real snooty attitude. We rent motorcycles.com should be called “we dont rent motorcycles.com”.
Ever get that felling that people are just crooks??? That is the feeling you will get from those guys. Read all the other post online about them.

A buddy got one of the Desmosedicis. I rode it last week on the street. It’s quite civilized and easy to ride, not at all violent or unmanageable.
