The Sakura is a wonderful example of "future retro" in that the overall design is inspired by the general configuration of a 1980s motorcycle but on closer inspection the details - such as the headlight and speedometer - are futuristic. It's a great design.

This is the bike that deserves the clutchless YCCS system - not the FJR1300. The Sakura being smaller, lighter, and having a low seat height would make a great city-bike and the YCCS system belongs on a city-bike not a huge sport-touring bike that spends all day on the highway in 5th gear.

"Seems you could even test ride them?
In Second Life…"

Wait, what? Really? I'm not ashamed to admit that I'm a Second Life "resident", and yep, I own motorcycles in-world too (a BMW R50 with detachable sidecar, a GSXR replica, and a custom-built Honda CL100). I'll have to check this out, for sure.

By the way, the motorcycling scene in SL is unfortunately very similar to that in the real world: lots and lots of choppers, some nice sportsbikes, and a minimal sprinkling of standards.

Hey Kneeslider, if you're listening, I'd be happy to be a Second Life motorcycling insider for you ;-)

(Now I wait for people to call me an incredible nerd...)

More on topic...that Yamaha site is really cool! I was having a lot of fun exploring it last night. Be sure to check out the actual cam images of the real booth at the show, too.
