Today, Brian Case joins our list of guest contributors. The name may already be familiar to many of you, he often comments here on The Kneeslider, but Brian spent the last 3 and a half years at Confederate Motorcycles where his task was to design the carbon backbone, aluminum frame and front suspension for the Wraith concept. After hurricane Katrina, he helped set up the Birmingham location and continue the Wraith project to production. He was responsible for building and testing prototype motorcycles, designing new parts and promoting the company.

He holds a B.S. degree in Industrial Design, and his experience for the last 10 years is mostly related to the transportation industry. His senior thesis received a National Science Foundation award for an ice-bicycle purpose-built for South Pole scientists, designed in collaboration with Dan Hanebrink. It was this project, and a missing finger, which ultimately led him to Confederate many years later.

Brian was at the Barber Vintage Fest recently and took quite a few photos. He filed an on the scene report which makes it look like something which would have been truly enjoyable. Maybe next year.
