Is it just me, or did I miss this trend? First we have Chris Barber's V6 Alfa Romeo powered motorcycle (Chris is the builder of the DesmoHarley), then there's the Alfa Boxer bike and now this Alfa Powered bike from South Africa. Some of the Alfa Romeo experts out there may be able to shed some light on exactly which engine this builder used.
Personally, the previous bikes looked a lot better to my eye but the simple fact that someone put this together earns him quite a few points. The majority of this bike looks like it was home built as opposed to grafting the engine to an existing chassis and riding off, the fork certainly has that custom look. Interesting.
So what other engine trends are out there we've missed?

Heh. That looks like what might happen if a backyard mechanic decided to try his hand at building an Italian version of the Triumph Rocket III. It’s not all that bad-looking, but I can’t say I’m a huge fan of the wheels and tires. They look disproportionately small, which probably contributes to the overall extremely “long” look of the bike.

Motor looks like the classic Alfa alloy DOHC four, used from 1954 to 1994 in displacements from 1290 cc to something like two liters. My girl friend back in the 1960s drove a Giulietta Spyder and she could really perform.

That front suspension is wild. Looks almost like they used an automotive style strut for damping and spring.
It is a nice bike–I prefer the other two Alpha bikes with the V6 Alpha bike slightly leading the pack. Car engines, placed into motorcycles, are becoming more visual and somewaht popular. This forum has reported in detail about various bike that have used alternative engines. Look at the Tatra V8 bike on http://www.dbbp.com. It is located in the middle of the page. It has a tough and clean design.
living in SA keep in mind there are not many custom parts one has choices of, however things are improving and biking is growing at a rapid rate.
